Chemistry ties in with scores of things you handle daily,
nearly every business uses chemistry somewhere in its operation,
and there are always fascinating new applications being developed.

Chemistry is the study of atoms and molecules
and of their function, uses, and applications in the world around
us. That may sound dull, but think of the implications - efficient
fuels, dyes that do not fade, stainless steel and non-rusting metals,
antibiotics and fungicides, adhesives, long lasting tires, weather
resistant coatings, breathable fabrics and no-iron garments, light
but strong construction materials, bullet-proof vests, CDs and LCDs,
micro circuitry and computer chips - and all at an amazing low cost.

Life would be very different without chemistry.
